What to Expect From a Free Security Phone Consultation

If you've never worked with a physical security consultant before, the idea of scheduling a consultation can feel uncertain. What will they ask? Will they try to sell me something? How long does it take? What do I actually get out of it?

These are fair questions, and we'd rather answer them upfront than have you wonder.

Here's exactly what our free phone consultation looks like — from the first minute to the last.

It's a Conversation, Not a Sales Pitch

Let's get this out of the way first: the free phone consultation is not a sales call in disguise. We're not going to spend 30 minutes asking about your budget and then pitch you a $50,000 security overhaul.

The goal of the consultation is to understand your situation, identify your most significant vulnerabilities, and give you an honest picture of where you stand. If there's a fit for a more detailed engagement, we'll say so — and we'll explain why. If there isn't, we'll tell you that too.

We built our reputation in East Tennessee on straight talk. That starts with the first call.

What We Cover in the Consultation

Your Facility and Operations

We'll ask you to describe your facility — the type of building, how many entry points it has, how many people are on-site during peak hours, and what hours you operate. We're building a mental picture of your physical environment.

We'll also ask about your operations: Do you handle cash? Do you have high-value inventory? Do you have employees who work alone or after hours? Do you have a children's area or other sensitive zones?

This context shapes everything else. A church with a 500-person Sunday service has different security priorities than a three-person accounting office.

Your Current Security Posture

We'll ask what you currently have in place: locks, cameras, alarm systems, access control, lighting, security personnel or volunteers. We're not judging what you have — we're establishing a baseline.

We'll also ask about any incidents you've experienced: break-ins, vandalism, threatening behavior, theft, or near-misses. Past incidents are often the clearest indicator of where the real vulnerabilities are.

Your Biggest Concerns

We'll ask what keeps you up at night. Sometimes business owners and church leaders have a specific concern — a recent incident in the area, a difficult employee situation, a custody dispute involving a family in the congregation. Sometimes the concern is more general: "I just don't know if we're prepared."

Either way, your concerns shape the conversation. We're here to address what matters most to you.

What You'll Walk Away With

By the end of the call, you'll have:

A clearer picture of your risk profile. Based on what you've described, we'll give you an honest assessment of your most significant vulnerabilities — the things that represent the highest likelihood or highest consequence if something goes wrong.

A prioritized starting point. Security improvements don't have to happen all at once. We'll help you identify the one or two things that would make the biggest difference right now, so you can make a decision with confidence rather than feeling overwhelmed.

Honest answers to your questions. If you have specific questions — about a particular product, a specific scenario, or whether something you've heard is actually best practice — we'll answer them directly.

No pressure, no follow-up sales calls. If you want to continue working with us after the consultation, we'll tell you what that looks like. If you don't, we'll wish you well. The consultation stands on its own.

How Long Does It Take?

Most consultations run 20 to 40 minutes. If your situation is straightforward, it may be shorter. If you have a complex facility or multiple locations, it may run a bit longer.

We'll work around your schedule. If you need to call during a lunch break or after business hours, we'll make that work.

Who Should Be on the Call?

Whoever is responsible for security decisions at your organization. For a small business, that's usually the owner. For a church, it might be the pastor, a deacon, or a facilities director. For a larger organization, it might be an operations manager or HR director.

You don't need to prepare anything in advance. Just be ready to describe your facility and tell us what concerns you most.
